I’m a fourth-year Interactive Arts & Technology student at Simon Fraser University, and my path to design began in an unexpected place — as a professional nail technician. I created personalized designs for each client, treating every set as a tiny canvas. In those moments, I discovered how design can shape emotion. The right design could make someone feel understood, confident, and seen. That realization drew me toward a larger canvas — designing experiences for people.
